Bake & Share Ministry

On May 5th, the Ladies of Charity of St. Vincent De Paul will joyfully celebrate the third anniversary of our beloved Bake & Share Ministry—a mission that has brought countless smiles to those served by the Matchan Nutrition Center and Soup Kitchen in Pontiac.

What began as a simple idea—sparked by Judy Drobot’s experience baking monthly for a Chicago parish—has grown into a thriving act of charity. When Matchan faced the loss of key food donors, our members stepped forward with open hearts (and ovens!).

From the very beginning, the response was overwhelming. We organized into four teams—one for each week of the month—and our dedicated bakers have never missed a beat. Whether it’s cookies, breads, or sweet treats, every item is a tangible expression of care.

Over time, Bake & Share has blossomed into something even greater:

Volunteers stepped up to transport baked goods
Flexible drop-off options made participation easier
New partnerships formed—including a wonderful group from St. Daniel’s in Clarkston

Thanks to generous members and friends, the spirit of Bake & Share continues to expand—neighbors baking together, families delivering together, and a community united in service.
