Annual Christmas Basket Program

Success! With full hearts, the Ladies of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul gathered once again in St. Hugo’s Parish hall for our annual Christmas Basket program—and what a joyful 2-day event it was. For the past year, our devoted volunteers have been tirelessly collecting toys, games, books, blankets, hats and mittens to fill the many family bags we prepare. Young and old came together, braving the freezing snow, and yet the spirit in the room was nothing but warm. Everyone was excited to be part of something truly meaningful.

We are especially grateful for the many Catholic schools and parishes in our area who stepped forward with remarkable generosity. Their parishioners and students donated toys, games, and gift items with such enthusiasm—and many came in person to volunteer, filling the hall with energy, laughter, and the unmistakable joy of giving. The 7th and 8th graders from St. Hugo School brought the muscle as they unloaded box after box of cleaning supplies from our friends at Hollywood Market and repackaged them in useful totes for each family we served. Their involvement was a beautiful reminder of how service shapes young hearts.

This year, we were also deeply touched by the generosity of six senior living centers who joined our mission by collecting children’s hats, gloves, and mittens for the Christmas Baskets.

Here’s a glimpse of what your generosity made possible:

  • 155 families served
  • 775 people touched
  • 474 children supported
  • 280 bags of toys packed
  • 155 donated totes of cleaning supplies assembled

Please take a moment to browse through the photos and watch the beautiful testimonial from one of our caseworker partners. Her heartfelt words remind us that the families we serve feel the love behind every gift—and that your generosity continues to make Christmas brighter for so many.

Very Special thanks to Lauren Brown, Meg Conroy, Katie Nienstedt, Lisa Stanczak and their many merry volunteer elves!  Your efforts made Christmas a reality for 155 vulnerable families this year!
