Welcome to The Ladies Of Charity of Oakland County

LADIES of CHARITY WELCOMES NEWCOMERS and AID as it MINISTERS to the NEEDY

“Whatever you do to the least of my brothers, so you do unto Me.” (Matthew 25: 31-46)

If you feel called to help the less fortunate, you may want to consider volunteering with the Ladies of Charity (LOC) of Oakland County. Partnering with approximately 47 social service agencies, the LOC operates a Clothes Closet/ Food Pantry supplying groceries, clothing, and household goods to needy individuals and families. Founded by St. Vincent de Paul in 17th-century France, the charity now operates in 53 countries with more than 250,000 women and men giving of their time, talent and treasure.

“As a volunteer-based ministry, we have continuously served Oakland County’s social service agencies for more than 50 years, and we welcome new volunteers of all faiths,” said Leslie Swanson, President of LOC of St. Vincent de Paul, Oakland County Association. “Ladies of Charity of Oakland County serves Christ with a two-fold purpose: to enrich our members by way of their experience serving those less fortunate, and to help the needy in their day-to-day life challenges.” Since its inception in 1965, the LOC of Oakland County has grown from 30 members to 350.
